Do I have to contribute?

You may be asked to contribute to your services, depending on:

  • The type of support you receive
  • Your financial situation

Government funding covers the rest, helping make care affordable for everyone.

Service Contributions

Your contribution is based on the type of services you receive:

  • Clinical Support – No contribution. Includes nursing, allied health, and medication management.
  • Independence Services – Moderate contribution. Covers personal care, home modifications, transport, social support and respite.
  • Everyday Living Services – Higher contribution. Includes shopping support, domestic assistance, meal preparation and gardening.

Financial Situation

Your income and assets help determine your contribution:

  • Full Age Pensioner – Minimum contribution
  • Part Pensioner / Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holder – Moderate contribution
  • Self-Funded Retiree – Higher contribution

How contributions are calculated:

You only pay for the services you use, as a percentage of the service cost. Contributions may vary depending on when your government funding was approved.
